Order Our Steps….Psalms 37:23, “The steps of a righteous man are ordered of the Lord and He delights in His way”. What I love about this scripture is that it tells us not only are our steps ordered and established by the Lord. It tells us that in order for you and I to get to where we are going, in order for us to keep our appointment with destiny, we have to take the steps. We must keep walking, putting one foot in front of the other. God orders them…I think about where I am and how I got to this place or any place or season in my life. How I may accomplish one thing or another. It is definitely by the grace and mercy of God, but it is also trusting God with every step.
A step is making a decision, taking a direction, trusting God with that direction. A step is going in faith and putting action to faith. Was every decision or direction the best? Or was I sure on every decision? Not necessarily. We are not going to always know what is best, but we do what we know or what we believe is best. We make mistakes too, but in that we see how the Lord still orders our steps as Romans 8:28 assures us that. " We know in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose." So that even our not so good decisions work to our benefit because we love God and pursue to do His good pleasure.
How do we keep in step with the order of God? Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” His word will show us the way. We have to believe that. Let it be your guiding light even when you think you know you have the answer and days seem clear. Let it be your flashlight in the dark places where things are not so clear or obvious to the natural eye. I love the scripture Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” I trust God, and I know that my own understanding of a thing may not be the most accurate. I trust God knows me, He knows the end from the beginning, He is the author of every life. He is the author of my life and as long as I keep that perspective and acknowledge that He is Lord and He is supreme wisdom and that His word is sovereign. He will direct the steps I take and I am so good with that… The results are priceless….Steps…
