In a world where chaos and confusion are ramped because of a lack of unity and clear vision we are forced to think of the qualities and qualifications of a good leader. Godly leaders don't seem so common. I am not saying perfect leaders but Godly leaders. First and foremost we need leaders that lead with compassion and conviction. We need leaders who lead with wisdom and integrity, consistency and mental stability. Leaders who lead with humility who acknowledge that they cannot do it all on their own strength and power but with the help of God and other good leaders.
Anointed leaders are not always appointed by men but they are called by God. They rise out of seemingly no where sometimes like King David. In the midst of chaos and confusion they rise to the challenge and cause. They shed light in the darkness. They defeat the giants of selfishness and aspire to inspire a life of selflessness. God's leaders seek themselves to do better, to be better. They are repentant and they are agents for change. They inspire unity not division, love not hate. They seek to do good and judge righteously. Above all they are servants. Matthew 20:26b, "Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant." The bible also instructs this in Philippians 2:3, " Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.'
We all have the capacity and responsibility to be a good leader and we have the responsibility to recognize the need for leadership. "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way" (John Maxwell) I am personally challenged to be a better leader as I also pray for the present and future leadership that affects this country for generations to come. God give us eyes to see so that we do not perish in obscurity. ~Darshan Nicole Williams
