Why Not Fear?

Why Not Fear? Because 2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power love and a sound mind." What is power, love and a sound mind? It is the divine authority, deep affection and caring for others, as well as the ability to make well thought out choices. We posses these qualities even in the face of fear. We need these qualities when confronted with crisis situations for us and those around us. God has given each of us the spirit to move, speak and act out our authority despite our circumstances.

Franklin D. Roosevelt said, "Nothing to fear but fear itself." What are we fearful of? Mostly the unknown. We're also fearful of what we hear and see and authentically experience. Crisis is real. Death is real. Sickness is real. Loss is real. They are difficult parts of life that we must cope with properly and intentionally. We cannot allow the fear of those things to cripple or disable us or cause us to make unsound decisions, and live and think defeated. Romans 8:37, "We are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ that loves us." No matter what it looks, sounds or feels like still declare the Word of God over your life and your family. The Word is all we have regardless. The Word was here in the beginning and will be still living when the earth has passed away. It is our bread to sustain us. The disciples were confronted with great hardships unto death, Jesus confronted the cross head on. Sure faith is tested, but choose to believe God. Choose to trust Him all the way. All the way means all the way. Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep in perfect peace those whose mind is stayed on you." Resist and reject the spirit of fear. Look to Jesus like never before and don't stop looking. Hebrews 12:2,Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith". He is the greatest example that ever lived.
